Seven south-west Active Partnerships – Active Gloucestershire, WASP, Wesport, SASP, Active Dorset, Active Devon and Active Cornwall – along with Sport England, are looking for a partner to help develop a regional place-based cluster model.
These seven Active Partnerships have a long history of collaboration, support and friendly challenge and they are looking to develop this relationship, as well as building on the opportunity that investment being directed into the organisations for place-based working is bringing. It is hoped that a place cluster will take joint working across the regional system to a new level, to help create the best possible conditions to support communities in each area to be active, especially those communities facing inequalities.
Ultimately, it is hoped that what will be created is an agreed vision that captures the common purpose for the cluster, an agreed governance model, including setting out an initial structure, membership and terms of reference, and an agreed outline for a set of priorities.
To help find the right people or organisation to work with, an invitation to tender has been issued and the brief for this can be downloaded here. Other supporting documents include Sport England’s cluster guidance document and a south-west region discussion paper.
The seven Active Partnerships are committed to helping to deliver Sport England’s Uniting the Movement strategy and working together to address inequality in sport and physical activity across the south-west region. You can find out more about how Sport England and the Active Partnerships network is working in a place-based way here.
Responses to the tender must be sent to enquiries@sasp.co.uk before midnight on 15 April 2024.
