Active Cornwall invested £4,050 from the Opening School Facilities (OSF) programme to Brannel School to develop new Basketball provision for a cohort of boys that don’t normally engage in extra curriculum activity and rarely represented the school in any activities.
Basketball was identified after engaging this cohort of students in what they would like and 2 blocks of 12 weeks of after school delivery was set up as well as purchasing some new equipment including balls and hoops.
This year is the first year Brannel have had a basketball club, which had led to regular fixtures being
played and even entering and competing in the junior NBA competition.
