Ali Shipway

My background originates within people matters.  

When setting up my independent consultancy in 2013, I sought to share my passion around improvement, change and leadership with those who want to make a difference to people’s lives. Because purpose matters to me – whether it’s being purposeful in approach or doing work that matters. 

My style is rooted in my values – boldness, passion, authenticity, learning and simplicity – which hold true as guiding principles in everything I do.  

I am based in the West Midlands but work across the UK. Having spent time immersed in places I have developed a strong sense of ‘place’ and am a proud Lead Facilitator for the Place Partnerships. 

I call myself a ‘Collaborative Consultant’, meaning I do ‘with’ not ‘to’ and enjoy being a leadership coach, mentor and trusted advisor.    

My Work 

The work I do is as varied as the dynamics, conditions and needs of those I support.  

I have worked with many sectors including education, charities, local government and the sport and physical activity sector.  

I have spent 10 years supporting and contributing to the work of Active Partnerships whether working in an Active Partnership, supporting the National Team, working with Sport England, sitting as Interim Chair for the National Organisation, supporting network groups or working with individual Active Partnerships and their places.  

I can support working with individuals, teams, organisations, or local systems in a place. Areas of work I can contribute to include:
