I focus on identifying and supporting people within the place, recognising that leadership should emerge from the local context rather than from outside. My work combines strategic thinking with on-the-ground delivery, balancing structure with adaptability to meet local needs.   

My current work reflects this, involving close collaboration with partners to address complex challenges:  

• Trauma Informed Plymouth Network – Supporting the board and senior system partners to align strategy, build leadership capacity, and embed relational practice across sectors. This led to a whole-system event involving system partners, leaders, and experts by experience, strengthening collaboration and shared understanding.  

• Cheltenham Sports and Physical Activity Strategy – Commissioned by the Borough Council, working with Active Gloucestershire to engage the community in shaping a strategy that reflects local priorities.  

• Ealing Community Champions – Originating in the council’s Public Health team, this initiative empowers residents to promote healthier practices and reduce health inequalities through learning and peer support.  

• Sports-based mentoring in the criminal justice system – Supporting prison-based mentoring programmes that help individuals rebuild their lives through peer support and structured pathways. My background as a teacher strengthens my ability to create inclusive, engaging learning environments.  

My work amplifies local voices and creates shared ownership of change, ensuring that solutions are shaped by those closest to the issues.
