On the 26 September, the Active Partnerships National Organisation (APNO) will be hosting its second major event focusing on integrating physical activity into health and care systems. This event is being held at the Studio in Manchester and will be facilitated by NHS Horizons, Sport England and the APNO.
Integrating physical activity into health and care systems is essential to help improve the health of the nation. The benefits and value of this are widely discussed so the aim of this event is to try and develop greater coherence on what is meant by ‘integration’ and to drive forward collective efforts, so that there is a joined-up movement, building on current good practice and learning, to create a positive impact for health systems both locally and nationally.
Delegates will be asked to consider what steps need to be taken to make further progress towards integration and the focus will switch from why physical activity should be integrated to how we can make this happen.
The event will also recognise the importance of the work happening across the sector to expand the support for places and communities that need more help to increase activity levels, looking for the opportunities that this work might provide to improve population health in a specific area.
A key event for anyone involved in or interested in this area of work, it is hoped that bringing people together in this way will develop a greater shared understanding of the work, enhance collective efforts and ensure that work is joined up both locally and nationally.
The event, which will take place from 10am until 4pm, has been designed to bring together colleagues from Active Partnerships, local health employees working in clinical, public health and other key roles, Sport England colleagues from across health, place and policy, and employees from Sport England’s national system partners who work in relevant roles.
This event is free to attend but numbers are limited, so please book as soon as possible to secure your place.
